Let's Save Babies Together
Social media has definitely changed my life for the better. Twitter and my blog friends are an endless source of helpful mom tips and inspiration. I know exactly where to turn for information and advice about babies.
When I was pregnant with Cameron my mom friend Kristine was kind enough to share with me information about newborn screenings that could detect a multitude of potential disorders that were either undetectable during pregnancy or hadn't developed until birth. I remember the feeling of empowerment that swept over me when I was armed with this information. It allowed my husband and I to have an educated and informed discussion with our healthcare providers about the post birth screenings our newborn daughter should receive.
SaveBabies is a non profit whose mission is to educate all parents with crucial baby saving information. Some states do not require every potentially life saving screening your child should receive, including Pulse Oximetry, so it is especially important to be aware of supplemental screenings before your child's birthday. I know how hectic things get when you're in labor. You do not want to be thinking about this at the last minute or during postpartum. Some doctors don't follow up with parents and provide them with their child's results. If your partner is informed he or she will easily be able to set a reminder to check up with your providers a few weeks post birth. These easy and simple steps could save your child's life.
Sign up for the Save Babies newsletter to stay informed. You can even follow Save Babies on Twitter or Facebook. If you're pregnant your memory can get foggy at times (I know I lost my shoes more than once) ensure that this is at the forefront of your mind by checking in with Save Babies wherever and whenever you can.

Lastly I urge you to share this video with at least one person.
